Meet Norwalk's newest police dog

Jan. 19—NORWALK — The public is invited to a meet-and-greet with Legion, the newest Norwalk Police Department police dog. Meet Legion — the K-9 with badge No. 41 — at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at American Legion Post 41, 406 W. Main St. in Norwalk. The dog is funded by the Norwalk American Legion's charitable contributions. Legion is partnered with officer Mitchell Chapman. Chapman, 24, of Huron, started his first day in November as a Norwalk police officer with his new partner, Legion. A four-year veteran with the NPD, Chapman kicked off his K-9 career with the German Shorthaired Pointer.
